Read the whole page (scroll down to read) and use the information to answer the following questions on your own paper (use complete sentence answers):
1. What was the most used energy source in the USA in 2008? What was its percentage of use?
2. Define the terms renewable and non-renewable.
3. Name five renewable energy sources in use in America.
4. What percentageof USA power comes from nuclear power?
5. Is nuclear power considered renewable? Why or why not?
6. How much more of the power used in America comes from natural gas than from nuclear power? (Hint: Subtract the percentage of power from burning natural gas by the percentage of power from renewable sources.)
7. From this ENERGY BASICS page, click on (in column on left) ENERGY SOURCES and it will take you to the sources page. On this page, click on BIOMASS. Read about biomass and write down 8 "bullet points" (phrases, rather than sentences, of information that helps you better understand) about biomass.
